St. Matthew’s Parish Forum Meeting, 17/04/2013
Present: Fr. Conor, Agnes Williams, Dave Cotterill, Eddie Cawley, Joan Purcell, Paula Burke, Ronny Burke.
Apologies: Joe McGunigle, Paula O’Toole, Kath Shaw.

Women’s Group: Next meeting Wednesday 1st May 2013, when the 2013 Tea Party will be discussed. White Flower Appeal – awaiting total.

Welcome Group: No update . Prayer Group: No update. North Liverpool Foodbank: 65 full bags of food donated in the last 8 weeks.

Whitechapel Centre: 15 full bags of clothes donated in the last 8 weeks.

Surveys: Work has been completed removing the asbestos from the garage and boiler room. The heating is being looked at to see if the blowers can be warmer but quieter but if units have to be replaced this will be expensive. We are waiting for the high level and electrical work to be looked at.

Bereavement Group: Anniversary cards and November Mass for the Bereaved to be discussed. Family Shoe Box Appeal 2012: Reply and pictures to be displayed in church as soon as possible.

CaFE – Catholic Faith Exploration - The Saints: Possibly October 2013.

Parish Pilgrimage to Walsingham: Deacon Eddie Cawley to be Spiritual Director. Departure Mass at St. Cecilia’s at 9.30am.

Lent:
Friday morning Masses: Fr. Conor - touching the amount of parishioners present.
Stations of the Cross: Fr. Conor - very well attended. Pastoral Area Reconciliation Service: Fr. Conor - Good and well attended.

Easter Services:
Stations of the Cross in the garden: Fr. Conor - the crowd bearing witness was phenomenal and a good number of Confessions followed.
Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion: Fr. Conor - great to see so well attended.
Easter Vigil: Fr. Conor – really lovely.
Easter Day Mass 9am: Fr. Conor – fantastic.

Confirmations/1st Holy Communions: At the Cathedral Sunday 12th May at 3pm. Eddie to check with Altar Servers.
Little Church/Miscellaneous Cupboard: Joan, Eddie and others to sort.
Very Rev. Vincent Burrowes - Diamond Jubilee: Canon Burrowes will celebrate Mass on Saturday 1st June at 12 noon to celebrate 60 years as a priest. All welcome. Light refreshments to follow.
