ST. MATTHEW’S PARISH FORUM MEETING
WEDNESDAY 9TH JANUARY 2013
Present: Fr. Conor, Agnes Williams, Dave Cotterill, Eddie Cawley, Joan Purcell, Joe McGunigle, Paula Burke, Ronny Burke. Apologies: Kath Shaw, Paula O’Toole.
Women’s Group: Next meeting Wednesday 6th February 2013.Ladies to collect for SPUC – White Flower Appeal on the weekend 9th/10th March 2013.
Welcome Group: A rota has been established. Ronny passed on a message from a visitor to our parish, who said that everyone had been very friendly and welcoming.
Prayer Group: Next meeting Monday 28th January 2013 at 7pm. Dave had an idea for Lent – possibly 3 Mondays, to be confirmed with Fr. Conor.
North Liverpool Foodbank: 80 bags donated during December and over 200 bags donated during 2012. Well done. Report to go in the newsletter.
Surveys: Progressing slowly, no major updates as yet.
40 Hour 2013: Fr. Conor would like this year’s adoration to be held at St. Cecilia’s in July (possible dates 4th/5th/6th/7th to be confirmed). This will hopefully encourage more parishioners to take part during the summer days and light nights. This will take the place of the previously scheduled Forty Hours in November in St Matthew’s. It is intended to alternate this devotion between the two parishes in future years, perhaps in the summer.
Bereavement Group: Fr. Conor to complete production of the bereavement card.
Parish Pilgrimage to Walsingham: Booked for 17th/19th May 2013. Dave will approach Fr. Ephraim to be Spiritual Director.
Pastoral Area Reconciliation Day: Fr. Conor said this was well attended.
Christmas Masses: All lovely. The Family Mass with the children was wonderful.

Sacrament of Reconciliation: Fr. Conor will be available for Confession on the last Saturday of each month from 5pm-5.45pm commencing Saturday 23rd February 2013.
Lent:
Ash Wednesday 13th February: – Mass 7am at St. Matthew’s – Mass 7pm St. Cecilia’s.
Friday mornings: Mass 7am – St. Matthew’s.
Friday evenings: Stations of the Cross at 7pm – St. Cecilia’s.
Fr. Conor requested that both parishes lead the Stations of the Cross.
Friday 15th February - Fr. Conor, Friday 22nd February – St. Matthew’s Eucharistic Ministers, Friday 1st March – St. Matthew’s Catechist’s, (Friday 8th March and Friday 15th March to be arranged with St. Cecilia’s), Friday 22nd March – Dcn. Eddie Cawley.
Stations of the Cross 29th March - Good Friday at St. Matthew’s in the garden, time to be confirmed at next meeting. Easter Triduum to be confirmed at next meeting.
Lenten Reflection: ‘The Gift’ – Thursday 14th March from 7pm-9pm.
Ministry of Acolyte: Ronny will receive this ministry on Saturday 9th March at St. Helen’s Church, Crosby at 12 noon.
Santa Dash: Final total £636.00. Thank you to all who supported Joan and Dave.
CaFE – Catholic Faith Exploration - The Saints: Possibly during Eastertide.
Evening with Jo Boyce (Boyce & Stanley): At St. Margaret Mary’s on 27th April 2013.
Christmas Social 2013: 6th December 2013 at St. Paul’s Club.
