ST. MATTHEW’S PARISH FORUM MEETING
MONDAY 13TH JANUARY 2014
Present: Fr. Conor, Agnes Williams, Dave Cotterill, Eddie Cawley, Joan Purcell, Paula Burke, Ronny Burke.
Apologies: Joe McGunigle, Paula O’Toole, Kath Shaw.
Women’s Group: Next 2 meetings Wednesday 12th February and Wednesday 12th March at 7pm. Ladies to arrange a rota for the White Flower Appeal, collection to take place 29th/30th March.
Prayer Group: Next meeting Monday 27th January at 7pm.
North Liverpool Foodbank: 331 full bags delivered during 2013. 18 full bags delivered already this year. Thank you to Christine Butchard for her commitment to this project and to all who donate.
Whitechapel Centre: 52 bags delivered during 2013. The first delivery of 2014 will be made in the next week.
Thank you to Gordon Charters for his commitment to this project and to all who donate.
Surveys/Work: Electrical work is now complete. We are now waiting for the outcome of the high level survey.
Bereavement Group: Cards continue to be sent out. A meeting is to be arranged.
Family Shoe Box Appeal 2013: An amazing 115 boxes sent from both our parishes. Thank you to all who donated.
CaFE – Catholic Faith Exploration - The Saints: This was great. There is a possibility of a similar event taking place during Lent.
Parish Pilgrimage to Walsingham: 16th/19th May 2014. The final prices will be available by the end of January.
Confirmations/1st Holy Communions - ‘With You Always’: Session 4 – 16th January, St Matthew’s when dates of Confirmations/1st Holy Communions will be announced.
Little Church - Catechists:
‘Let Your Light Shine’ an afternoon preparing to celebrate Lent led by Jo Boyce of CJM Music on Sunday 9th February at LACE from 2pm-5pm.
50/50 Club: Doing well with a number of new members from both parishes.
Journey in Faith: 2 enquirers at present.
Christmas Social: 2013 Social was marvellous. Date for this year – Friday 5th December 2014
Christmas Masses: Lovely and well attended.

Lent: Ash Wednesday (5th March) Mass in St. Matthew’s at 7am. Mass in St. Cecilia’s at 7pm.
Fr. Conor and Dcn. Eddie will arrange services for ashes for both our schools.
Friday mornings - Mass in St. Matthew’s at 7am.
Friday evenings - Stations of the Cross in St. Cecilia’s at 7pm. Fr. Conor will lead on Friday 7th March, Dcn. Eddie will lead (date to be arranged) and Groups from both parishes to combine to lead remaining dates.
Easter Triduum:
Holy Thursday (17th April) Mass of the Lord’s Supper in St. Matthew’s at 7pm – Watching until 10pm.
Good Friday (18th April) Morning Prayer in St. Matthew’s at 6am.
Stations of the Cross in the garden at St. Matthew’s, at 11am; followed by Confessions until 12.30pm.
Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion in St. Cecilia’s at 3pm.
Holy Saturday (19th April) Easter Vigil in St. Matthew’s at 9pm.
Easter Day (20th April) Mass in St. Cecilia’s at 9am.
Next meeting: Monday 31st March 2014 at 7pm.
