St Cecilia’s Parish Forum Minutes, Monday 14th October

Present: Fr. Conor, Dcn Eddie, Sr. Doris, Lyndsey Woodward, Marie Crist, Rachel Griffiths, Mary Dillon.
Apologies: Teresa Routledge, Simon Holleron, Mary Kenny

Eucharistic Ministers: Some people seem unhappy with only serving at 1 Mass. Unfortunately due to ratio of Masses & Ministers there is no way around this. Due to Maternity Rachel may not be around Dec/Jan but Marie will arrange cover. Some ministers still unsure of procedure when approaching Altar, Fr. Conor confirmed it’s once Tabernacle is closed. Fr. C would like a list of the sick and housebound.

With You Always: First session took place and went well. Fr. C to take the next group in church. Lyndsey will email all parents a reminder next week.

Baptism Group: All ok but Eddie thinks the couples need to contact 1 of the 2 offices if they are not attending.

Little Church: Resources have arrived. Catechists meeting on 28th October then hopefully start on Sunday 10th November, giving time to orderresources.

Altar Servers/Guild of St Stephen: After advertising we have no new AS from here.

UCM: Nothing to report. Legion of Mary: Nothing to report.

Safeguarding: Maria hasn’t been in yet. Lyndsey will get hold of her again.

Readers: Meeting will be held Wednesday.

Bishop Tom Visitation:
Went well. Reception was well attended. Fr. C would like to thank everyone who played a part in the weekend.

Pilgrimage to Rome: No interest in Rome. Mary will just plan for Lourdes 2015

St Cecilia’s feast day: Mass with school at 10am.

Christmas: Fr. C will look at Mass times then they will be published in all the usual places. Lyndsey to order 1 Christmas tree but it was decided not to sell baubles this year, and will speak to Teresa regarding advent wreath.

Pious List/Bereavement Mass: Envelopes will go out this weekend for Pious List. Bereavement Mass will be held in St Cecilia’s on Wednesday 6th November at 7pm. Letters have been sent out to all families. Lyndsey will speak to Teresa with regards to cross and flowers, and UCM about welcoming families into Church. Someone is required to read the list of names out, and someone maybe children will bring the cross forward at the start of the offertory.

Complaint: The sacristans have received a number of complaints about people chatting at the back of church during Mass.

Next meeting will be held on Wednesday 15th January at 7pm.
